Kirkwall Grammar School Installation

This project was designed and built collaboratively with Kevin Shaw, dyker and Steve Husband, engineer.

The building material is Quoyloo sandstone, augmented by scavenged fieldstone and Orkney flagstone.

The three greenheart spheres were turned by Steve on a specially prepared lathe. The largest fieldstone contains the carved handprint of the youngest school pupil.

The wall contains a stone kyist with an emblematic object from each school department.
